My Crassula ovata 'Gollum' has undergone all sorts of cold weather issues. Just showing here how mine reacts to cold weather:

Photo taken last Feb 2012 - looked almost dead

I thought it is surviving this winter much better: have placed it nearer to the house.

This photo taken this morning:04Feb2013. Don't know if this is a delayed reaction to the chill it got a couple of weeks ago when we had almost two weeks of 28F-30F overnights. Just surprised to see how the other half of the plant has bowed down, somewhow like a windswept look.. I felt the trunk, it still feels quite firm, just this sudden bowing down Rolling my eyes. Leaves looks very green and has outlines of red. It has not rained here much, been getting good 65F daytime and about low 30's overnight.

Hoping it will upright itself, like the way this Mother of Millions is slowly raising the tip, after the stem bent back:

Thanks! I am still hopeful it is okay, as long as I see lots of green, it may just be trying to adjust. We have been having cold foggy mornings, maybe that is the one it is reacting from as well.

It has made a lot of recovery since the photos of Feb 2012. I may indeed be reacting to those cold, damp mornings.
I garden for the pollinators.

Just a photo update of this plant. It seems it was slumping before not because it was cold..but rather it was getting thirsty. So I gave it some water then and just allowed it to dry on and endure the cold...well, it has been really dry henceforth..not much rain just cold nights of high 30's and daytime now at 60 to 65F ...it worked good, as the slumped branch has now perked up once more Big Grin

Thanks Greg! I am closely watching the succulents...it is such a dry dry winter....at first I was hesistant to water this plant, but I have observed sometimes over and under watering issues look similar. I am just glad it is back on track again! Big Grin

Yes! Mine is looking sad, and it may also be a water issue because its in a very small non draining bowl - trying to look like a bonsai, I'm thinking this plant would be happier in a different pot Thumbs up I tip my hat to you.

This is one of the succulents I bought today. Mine is just a tiny container. Its only about 3 inches high. I'm laughing at myself now because in my mind I envisioned it always staying petit! Silly me!
