Crying I am going to put all mine in pots so they will get colder in the winter. Takes too long for the ground to freeze, if it freezes at all.

I started putting new ones in pots last year because I think it does help. I still lost some. I went looking for a couple and found nothing or else just dead roots. Ugh. Sad I did find a couple of new eyes coming up on my Sagae today. It's still early--I'm not giving up yet!

The above is my garden two years after I moved here. Patti that Solomon Seal I bought with you, when I came to visit and you took me shopping. I lost that big huge white Clematis too.
I am going to buy me a tiller and get some of that Texas fertilizer. I don't think I fertilize enough. While I am thinking about it I am going to send some soil samples to the soil extension office, they can tell what I need.. They are the ones who told me about the soil mulch.

Yeah, Sylvia, I remember when you bought the Solomon's Seal. I got one too. Mine is in that dark, dark corner where only mushrooms want to grow. It's hanging in there, but barely. I'm just trying to keep it alive until the giant mushroom next door (aka my neighbor's monstrous Bradford pear) finally dies and lets us have some light over here again. It's not just the Solomon's Seal... my bedroom is dark as a cave.

I don't remember your white clematis--what kind was it? Do you remember the clematises you bought on the crispy critters rack at Lowe's one year and brought to the RU? Mine (Nellie Moser) came up and bloomed the next spring. It's in bud right now.

My hostas are still coming up, but my gardens are very spotty. I'm just so crushed at how little they are. I think, not sure yet, that I managed to save my one "splurge" hosta, Foxfire Rose Red, but it's so little, it looks like Thumbelina. I guess that's okay because Thumbelina is still MIA. So is my favorite, Touch of Class.

Sylvia, I don't know if it'll do any good or not, but if it's okay with you, I'll share a link to this coop on my Facebook page.

I didn't know you bought Red Rose! Dig up right now an put in a pot with some good medium. That was a hardy plant and it grew fast. Please take care of it so it can grow. I will give you 50.00 for a couple of eyes.

Patti I think its something we are not doing. I wish I could find that Texas Fertilizer that I put down when I first came over here. I don't remember the name of the white Clematis, but I got that Nellie Moser in the front where the sun is. Its running wild down there. Lord when I move I hope I can dig it all up. Another reason I am putting all my Hostas in pots, I want to move up into the panhandle. or some where north. Between Tyler and Amarillo!

Please share the link, I need Hostas bad.. I even posted it on a Daves page..lol

Please dig up that FF Red Rose and put it in a pot.

Yeah, I bought Rose Red 3 or 4 years ago when he lowered the price. It IS in a pot. It just hasn't done very well for me. Sad It isn't big enough to share any eyes this year. Maybe next year. Did you lose yours?

I told you guys I put it in the ground, then sat that huge pot on top of it. Posted is two pics of Rose Red the floppy one is what it look like when I first planted it. The other shows how it looked when it started growing. You need to put it in he middle of all this rain, maybe its too dark where it us.

Don't think it's too dark. Apparently a few years ago I got some bad potting soil, and several of my pots got waterlogged before I figured it out. That was one of them. I saw it and saved it in time, but it was set back. It did come up and bloom last year (no, the flower isn't red). I'm encouraged that it has come up this year.

craftie, just go to the spreadsheet and order what you'd like. I don't have the link handy, so you'll have to scroll back, but I think it's posted on the page before this one. Sylvia, can you go back and edit your very first post to include the link?
