I don't mind snow in Dec. & Jan., and even a little in February, but this is ridiculous this year.

OOH SNOW,I don't like it and it doesn't like me!! Whistling

Everyone should stay inside and have some hot chocolate i totally agree with that advice if you look out and see that much white stuff.
Chris,I'm intrigued i'd like to see picture's as the snow melts,i'm curious as to how your beds look after being under all that snow.

I have a question, seems like i say that a lot! Hilarious! I have Arrowhead Alpines open on another tab and the way the zones for each plant is labeled is just zone 5 etc... Does that mean it's cold hardy up to that zone & as far as heat it can live in the heat of all other zones ?

Going back to Arrowheads Lovey dubby
A green thumb comes only as a result of the mistakes you make while learning to see things from the plants point of view!!

Jojoe, glad to see you are enjoying Arrowhead? I still need to get back just to figure out why some semps are listed twice but one with extra letters like the extra one is Version 2.0 or something...
Anyway, jo, don't forget to eat dinner while still looking at Arrowhead... Hilarious!

Hi Jojoe, that's a good question, usual it should say an upper zone range! I know with semps they cannot take full direct afternoon sun in a hot environment, and even here where I live, it doesn't get that hot but for a couple weeks each summer it can be hot and dry and I provide them some afternoon shade! You're in a good zone though for many many plants! Hurray!

Semps really do need a winter chill time to continue thriving. And as Greg said, if you have hot conditions in summer some afternoon shade is very helpful to them. Thumbs up
