Old rundown barns make me sad. I hate seeing the exposed framing because I know the barn is not fit for anything but to be burned down or otherwise destroyed.

It's good that they are a reminder of time long past but I wish those days would be renewed and those barns once again be filled with animals with a family nearby to care for them.

Looking at the pictures I took today makes me feel the same way. Even worse is to look at the abandoned houses.

I wish someone would just repurpose the wood if the buildings can't be rebuilt or used the way they are.

But even so, they have incredible beauty. And much as we'd like to, we can't fix everything.
Sometime, but probably not yet, there will be a renewal. I really believe that.

Sharon, I am sorry for your loss, but do thank you for sharing the pictures with us.

In times of sudden loss it does take us a while to process the feelings and the sorrows.

I am so glad you turned yours into pictures that although sad in some respect, we can remember their glory days and

also they remind us that to everything there is a season .........

And I believe in the renewal of life after death as promised in Scripture.

May you be comforted with warm memories of your friend and the glory days in the past and renewal to come.

That BLUE sky is beautiful Sharon.

I look at old barns and have all those questions - who, what, where, why, how...

Same with old trees - were there picnics underneath the leaves in warm weather, did animals stand under them for shade, or use the bark to scratch their back.

You can close your eyes, go back in time and remember.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your friend. I'm glad you and your friend were able to take a drive in the countryside on such a beautiful day.

Group hug

We saw a little white burro yesterday, cutest thing. I've never seen a white burro till then. There was traffic behind us and it was on the wrong side of the road to get a picture, but I know now where it lives so I'll take another drive one day soon and maybe it will be out again. There was a barn on that property, a well used one, one of the few I saw that was in use.

It was a good day in spite of the melancholy, Vic, thank you.

Saw other animals here and there too, so somewhere there are barns in use.
