My Superstition Catalog came today. They list a huge selection. I think they are a great source for quality rhizomes of nice varieties that are 3-4 year old at good prices. Great selection!

I've been dealing with them via e-mail, as we're not home to "get the mail". But, no doubt I'll see something in the "paper book" that I can't live withoutwhen we get home, and make a 2nd order! Happens every time! Rolling on the floor laughing In fact, I've already made an "order addition!!( Guess I've got the bug bad!!)...Arlyn Whistling

They say in their catalog to"order historics early".So I ordered in Dec., before we left for the coast! They "reserved "them for me, and e-mailed me about 2 weeks ago with the amount, and I sent them a check. They said there were a lot of additions/deletions in this years book, and I'm anxious to see it..Some growers have "tons" of everything....and some only a few...so I try to get in early. I figure they can respond anytime, I'm in no hurry, and I try to let them know that, but If I was in that position, I'd want to know what I had sold as early as I could to avoid disapointing other customers, who order later, and don't get everything they order.I figure if the grower is up to snuff, knows how much product they have , etc., they can inform people early that they are "sold out", then folks can order them someplace else. When you get your heart set on something, and it's not in the box, It's a bummer!...Arlyn

You're a wonderful customer person, Arlyn.

My problem is I can't tell for sure until April here what survived, and I do hate disappointing people.

That's only one of the problems you growers have, I'm sure. Anytime "mother nature" and "father time" are involved in the production process! Well, anything goes!! And I'm sure that most of us "customers"expect a certain amount of disapointment, or are at least tolerent of it, but if everybody does their part( customer ordering at an early date, grower responding as soon as possible with a "yea, or a nay", and both aware of the fickelness of nature) it's an enjoyable thing for everybody....Arlyn

Arllyn, this is the wrong group to ask to stop you! Just keep telling yourself that grass is over rated. Who needs a lawn, besides aren't you buying some more property? You can always get some weed eating chickens to do your weeding! nodding

Well, if I remember your wife bought tons of tulip bulbs last fall, maybe you can have a deal where you get an iris for each tulip bulb, fair is fair! Worth a try, or you could just say, Darn, I just don't remember ordering these. Must have been a senior moment! nodding

I'm thinking that I'll "blame" the growers!" Look at all these extras they sent!! I wonder if they made a mistake?" Think she'll buy it? Problem is, I tend to go a little overboard sometimes, She "counted- up" my fishing rods when we moved, and when she got to 38, she told me "Enough alreadt !!". So I started counting her knitting needles, and we called a truce ! Ya' gotta' love 'em !! Lovey dubby ..Arlyn

Oh -- that's totally not fair Arlyn!! Knitting needles come in pairs -- have to, in order to knit -- fishing rods come in one's!! So 38 knitting needles only count as 19!

Boo.................................!!!!! Hilarious!
