Thread OP

I'd like to turn my deck into a moonlight garden. Any suggestions for low maintenance plants that would work well in in containers, and make an awesome moonlight garden?

Welcome! lookforkim.

White petunias
Nicotiana
Stocks
Alocasia macrorhiza 'Variegata'
Datura: white
Snapdragons: white
Euphorbia heterophylla 'Yokoi's White'
LANTANA CAMARA WHITE DWARF
Lantana camara 'White Dwarf'

There are a bunch, depending on container size, sun or shade, annual or perennial, and growing zone.
I love moon gardens, but have never created one.

What exactly is a Moon garden? My garden look so trashed in the day, maybe I can create some ambiance at night. I have seen a lot of outside lighting online and thought it would be cool to use them. My soil is so bad and full of tree roots I can hardly plant anything. So I decided to do a container garden and grow trees. Big Grin

This is a great explanation. White blooms, lovely scent, and even variegated leaves with lots of white.

And containers are a great way to do it.

Oh! That would help! ;o) Thanks for your patience! I'm in zone 6a, in Northwest NJ. My deck actually faces Northwest-ish, but it gets super toasty from the sun reflecting off the deck and house and sun loving plants tend do well on it.

I have pots of all shapes and sizes, and if I don't have something big enough, I'll buy it!

I am a night owl and plant my gardens for evening interest. I go out at night and snap pics to see what stands out. These are some of the pics if it will help.

Don't' overlook using white hardscape. This is a daylight and evening shot of the same pot,
