My roses are just now starting to bud out with 100% of the roses blooming right now are ones that I've put in the ground this year. However, my Austrian Copper is swollen with promise of a glorious display this year!! Probably in 2-3 days I'll start seeing some of them.

But, for now, here's some pics. This is the corner of my house between the house & the garage. It faces north & east, so it gets almost zero sun. Sad There is dead nettle (nancy white), coleuses, columbines, coral bells, spiderwort, and a massive elderberry there. The elderberry is covered in green aphids (EEYEW!!) so I bought a bag of lady bugs. Most got blown away with the horrendous winds we've had, though. :(

Here's a closeup of one of the plants.. it's a fake succulent. But it has pretty flowers and is good down to zone 4! I can't remember the name, but I do have the tag next to the flower.

This is the "Sweet Kate" or "Blue Gold", depending on the seller, spiderwort. I love this plant. It does like it's water, though, so it's not very xeric.

I've got quite a few columbines next to my corner. In the back is "Red Bird in a Tree" and next to the sidewalk is my Little Rocket.

Now for some irises. I put most of my irises along side my driveway in a rock area between myself & one of my neighbors. These are the "blue" irises.

I've got white irises & peach irises between the blue & the purple ones. I thought I had some yellows.. but not everyone is sending up flower stalks yet, so I'll have to wait and see.

Here's the purples again.

And now for some roses. Here's just one of my Sterling Silvers. This is the only one I have in the front yard.. all the others are in the back. This rose smells WONDERFUL!!! If you look in the background, you'll see a little bitty rose. That's Tuscan Sun from last year. That's almost what every single one of my "original" roses from last year/year before looks like, which is why I don't have any roses from them yet. I barely have any leaves!!

I had just watered, and loved the way that it looked on the one bloom.

Golden Masterpiece. I love this rose.. I really really do. Unfortunately, my camera decided to have a dead battery warning right after I got this shot, so I couldn't take any more. I'll try to get some later, before Friday. I have some of the roses I got from Burlington getting ready to blossom.. one rose I got from RU is just HUGE and fully leaved out (some of the leaves are turning white, though?), and I do have buds on a couple I got from Nor'East Miniatures last year before they closed up shop to the public.

Congratulations! I agree that Golden Masterpiece is immensely photogenic. I didn't know anyone still grew Sterling Silver - always good to hear of the success of another good smeller.

I'm still waiting for the first rose. Baronne Prevost, Mons. Tillier, and Tess of the d'Ubervilles all are showing buds. And have been for a week. Or two. Hermosa is further behind. Most of the other hundred or so are still weeks from buds. I think it's warmer there than here. We have yet to break 80F.

We've been in the 70s all week.. only hit 82 on Saturday, but the winds made it MISERABLE between 10-40 mph & gusts in the 60s. Monday was worse with winds almost 80mph! BAD.

I can't wait to see my row of Sterlings blossom, plus my pond area with all the blues in it.. YAY!!

I did that, came up w/an error... let's see if I can get that error to come back up.

Yay, it worked! Maybe it was because I was posting a new thread?
