In case you're curious about how much attention the calendar app has received, I've been compiling a list of all the media outlets that have mentioned the calendar webapp. My list is not exhaustive, but somewhat complete.

The list does not include any of the activity on facebook or twitter.

You are right about me and lists. Smiling

I didn't even notice that Santa Cruz misspelled my name. Oh well. that's my reward for having an unusual name. Doesn't bother me. Sticking tongue out

Dave,

Congrats! I tip my hat to you. Thumbs up

I have some questions about the garden planting calendar.

Who 'makes up' the dates?

I live in Hebron, KY (northern KY), zip code is 41048 and I get this.....

On average, your frost-free growing season starts Apr 20 and ends Oct 17, totalling 180 days.

I used to live in Centerville, OH (suburb of Dayton, OH), zip code is 45459, which is A LOT FARTHER NORTH of where I live now and I get this...... Grumbling Grumbling Grumbling

On average, your frost-free growing season starts Apr 11 and ends Oct 30, totalling 202 days.

Grumbling Sad Thumbs down Crying Blinking Confused Angry

Sorry, but I don't agree with it. It should be the other way around for those two zip codes.

Are there differences in altitude or in terrain? Maybe the 45459 area is more sheltered or higher up. Frost settles in valleys.

And I believe Dave said the info is pulled from various local weather stations.

I did a search and found

Centerville, OH 45459 (Montgomery County)

Centerville, Ohio, United States [Place] is in Montgomery County; location is 39°37'42"N 84°9'34"W; elevation is 1,020 feet [SourceGSP]

www.placesnamed.com/c/e/centerville.asp

Hebron, KY 41048 (Boone County)

Hebron, Kentucky, United States [Place] is in Boone County; location is 39°3'57"N 84°42'4"W [SourceGSP]

http://www.placesnamed.com/h/e...

Centerville, OH Elevation Range, 830 - 991 ft (also found elevation 903 ft.)

Hebron, KY Elevation: 870 feet

I still want to cry :crying:! Here I thought that since I was living a lot farther south, that I'd have 'better numbers'! Crying Crying Crying

It's strange that I have 3 sets of elevation for Centerville, OH 45459

Elevation is 1,020 feet
Elevation Range, 830 - 991 ft
Elevation 903 ft.

I guess I should add that in Hebron, KY, that we're not far from the OH River (we're south of Cincinnati, OH and part of the Greater Cinn.,OH area), whereas, in Centerville, OH, it's all land surrounding it.

The US dates on the calendar are derived from the NCDC publication:

http://hurricane.ncdc.noaa.gov...

I'm using the 80% chance dates for the US and they seem pretty accurate from what I can see.
