I have a pair of gardening gloves to give away. It says one size fits most. I can only mail them in the USA. Show me a picture of one of your favorite lilies and tell me what makes it great, a favorite. Entry deadline midnight February 21, 2013. Thought it might be a good way to get us thinking about spring!

The gloves are Wells Lamont and one size fits most.

This lily is well balanced in every aspect ratio, from a strong stem diameter to height, to well populated, lush dark green foliage, to pedicel lenght and placement, to high bud count of long lasting flowers that are just the right size to compliment the whole affair. The flower color is deep melon/tropical sunset with soft brown accented reverse that interacts with the twilights of dawn and dusk for absolutely beautifull viewing. And, that's not all; this plant is hardy as the 'dickens' to boot!

The glove model is NOT me. Hilarious!

I have pink or purple too, if those are preferred over green. I chose green because I thought they could go either she or he.

Thanks Lorn for starting it off.

Tracey, what's your favorite?
My Father (who also was a lily hobbyist) favored Casa Blanca for it's beauty and purity of white colour. When Stargazer was created, he thought that was "the most beautiful lily ever created and destined to be of universal appeal". Guess his forecast was right. When he passed, Friends and Family decorated the parlor with lilies and six dozen or more Casa Blancas and Stargazers drapped his casket.
Besides Seafarer, I have about five or six others that I have high regards for because aside from well balanced beauty, they represent either a high level of achievement or have survived in the marketplace for a long time. Of course, the first to open in the Spring each year is always pretty (prettiest), right?

Anyone who sees this Eyeliner in my garden among all the beautifully scented and vibrantly colored lilies, singles this out as something special.

Tiny black speckles are the norm, but what is so unique on this lovely white flower is that each petal has a purple-black edge. Best viewed up close, terrific in small gardens and vases. 3 Feet. June Flowering, Light Scent.Thumb of 2013-02-15/Roses_R_Red/3ff0f8

That's called eyeliner, a lightly scented hybrid asiatic. I recently ordered three to put along my patio border. Glad to hear people liked it--just what I wanted to hear. Looks dainty!

There are so many lilies that come to mind for me, but once I grew this one, I would say it really stood out for me. I would say that 'Pink Jazz' has to be my very favorite lily. The form is very special, and the coloration, even in my climate in the Midwest, is very unique. It's an OT lily with a lot of trumpet qualities. The fragrance is wonderful, it doesn't need staking and has been reliable, even in extreme temperatures here. The blooms last for weeks. It was bred by Dick Bazett, a small scale Canadian Hybridizer.

When I think to the future, and a bloom when I await the season, it's the first bloom that pops into my head. And as it pops into my head, I am almost immediately transported into my summer garden in my mind. That's how you know, that with so much beauty in lilies, how you know one has won your heart especially.

My favorite is Triumphator! It's reliable, has huge flowers, smells delicious, is tall, strong, and the flowers last forever. It's one of my 1st lilies to bloom as I can't grow Asiatics. #1 in my book! Thumb of 2013-02-17/NW15/e4f578
