I'd repotted this plant, a Double Santa, and was over watering and over feeding it, I guess! I noticed one root had rot! Eeeeek!!! I took it out of the pot, got the roots as clean as I could, and hung it here by my door. This was two months ago. The plant had a few leaves, but no buds. All this growth and blooming happened while it was hanging!
. ... If you click the picture to see the Big Picture, you can see where the root had rotted, down on the far right. It'd healed itself, and I pulled off the bad part. Odd how they can do that, heal. Hum.

Oh, if I wash the glass clean and pretty, the doves and other birds fly into the window and kill themselves. Can't have that!

Doves are not noted for their superior intelligence.Good job n the double Santa.That would have been a tough one to lose.

I have two double and two triple Santas, go figure. I have "loved to death" several very wonderful plants, booo.

I am still trying to find the "perfect" potting mix for here. Must have five or more different mixes, confusing. I would use just sand, but it's too heavy! Plus the weather is waccko. The last week it's been such low humidity, very sunny and breezy, that everything dries really quickly. Then sometimes it'll rain for a few days, and then be cloudyish for a week, and everybody is too wet. erghhh.

I have two plants that are rather fragrant, I'm trying to cross pollinate them. Wish me luck! One is white and looks like some fat caudex arabicum ancestry, and the other is spindly and named "Siam Golden Aroma", but has only some gold. Lots of pink stripes. Photos later---

One out of the eighty-some plants I've been growing at the Botannical Gardens is having troubles with not enough Boron, or some other element. Spindly petals. Why one of all of them? Weird. But then three rotted, with the same care and potting mix as the others. All the plants are from one pod from a pink plant I have.

Melissa you certainly have the touch, your flowers are always beautiful, afraid mine are not getting the care they need and am thinking of giving some away.

They do take some fussing. But, Doris, you can kind of forget about them for months at a time, and when you feel like fiddling with them again, there they are!

I went to our once a year Agriculture fair, like a county fair, this past weekend. Always the same, but that's OK. I bought small pots of kale plants, collards, celery, parsley. Dark Leafy Greens for the salad! I always have an eye for Adeniums, and saw only two pinks in one booth!!!!! Maybe next year I'll unloa some of my too many. I'm getting excited about propagating the few that I have that are fragrant. I'll keep my favorite thirty, as someone said...
