I won, I won. The prize was watching 'Little Raffle Man'. Lovey dubby
I started laughing, because I realized I was clapping my hands every time he turned the paper so we could see the name. Rolling on the floor laughing
I was so proud of him. Smiling

Oh, and congratulations to all the winners. What a grand raffle this was. Can't wait to see which roses Larry chooses.

Hah! Love those videos! What a treat!

And what a nice surprise to see I won 2nd.

It's really cool that, as Dave said, "ten percent of the participants won"...you won't find that happening in any prize drawing elsewhere, eh? Go ATP!

A'hem, now as for my name....

... I have a speed hoe (stirrup hoe), a warren hoe, a fork hoe, a standard garden hoe and now I understand I have, or am, a..

Horsehoe! Hilarious!

Yes, ditto. Congrats to all!

And big time thanks to the sharing/caring providers of the gifts, Joannabanana, Calif_Sue and Paul2023, and Antique Rose Emporium, whose website is a great warehouse of roses and rose knowledge! Ya'll better book mark that site!

I just remembered that you mentioned getting acorns for comments left in database entries, I wasn't sure about that because it doesn't seem to trigger one of those system messages that announce your comment submissions and acorn accrual.

Me too!

Dave & Trish, I think you mentioned in the video (so cute with little man!) that you could recommend some roses.

What is your favorite from the Antique Rose Emporium?

Also RE: comments left in the database. This has not been clear to me either, sometimes I think I may have gotten an acorn, other times, I'm sure I did-not.

I got 'Sally Holmes' from A.R.E. 5 years ago and it's performed spectacularly in our sandpit with zero irrigation and terrible soil, surrounded with tall goatweed and grass. It's amazing.

Rose (Rosa 'Sally Holmes')

I also have a deep velvetty purple rose from them, highly fragrant and has millions and millions of thorns on its canes, but it also is a real winner. I love the colors and the fragrance. I just can't think of its name right now. I bet Sue knows just from the description above.

Thank you all for your well-wishes and thanks to everyone connected with this wonderful raffle! I told Dave last night that I took one last peek at my email before heading to bed and couldn't believe what I read. What a great note to end the day on!

I've been checking out the roses all morning long. There are so many great ones, I'm having trouble deciding which ones to choose. Green Grin! For sure I'll let everyone reading this thread know which roses I've selected, along with their photos. My afternoon is heavily scheduled, but I'll be back in touch tonight.
