Right on schedule the Billbergia nutans - Queens Tears is blooming. This years blooms are about 1/3 the normal size .. I'm not quite sure they are so small this year.

And a total surprise this morning - Lady Margaret - Passiflora .. I don't think I've ever seen a Passiflora blooming in February! I'm thinking that the extraordinary warm ups we've had might be the cause .. The plant is in a pot in the greenhouse.

And last but certainly not least, my Bougainvillea brasiliensis, Raspberry Ice is in full bloom.

They are .. the colors of the Billbergia are astonishing!

I have another Billbergia, pyramidalis - Flaming Torch I received in trade late last Summer.. the flowers are completely different I'm hoping it will bloom for me this year .. it's bloom time is is late Summer into Fall. I'd love other species of Billbergia so if anyone has any, let's trade!

I absolutely love the Billbergia nutans - Queens Tears!!!

I have never been able to find one and i have looked.Do you know of any nurseries that i might be able to get one from.I just remembered i got the Logee's spring 2013 Plants for home & garden in the mail taday.I am going to look through it and hope lady luck is smiling down on me.

Beautiful plants,nothing will make you smile the rest of the day like waking up to a surprise like that!!
