I like the features on the LA for the seller and buyers. I do not like leaving feedback for a seller that will not ship for months. What does everyone else do? I leave feedback when I get them.

I have never left negative yet but a few have gotten neutral after they arrived.

I dont leave feedback till something arrives. I cant say Ive left negative feedback, but if something isnt really up to par, I just say 'arrived'.
The best thing Mike ever did was the paid button and the feedback button that you can leave 'mass' feedback to a seller. When you buy ten packs of seeds, the last thing I want to do is go to ten different auctions and write the same thing.
The only negative feedback I ever got was my first year and it was a check transaction. The check cleared, but the guy got me mixed up with someone else. It was a huge hassle, and finally I lost interest. I knew the check had cleared, so I wasnt loosing sleep. It finally got easier for me to just tell him to leave negative feedback and be done with it. Now, its paypal ...period. I did send Fred two checks this year, but I didnt see that as a risk or hassle. Fred left feedback as soon as he got the checks, so I knew that got there. I should get my plants in the spring and hopefully there will be time to still leave him feedback.

RIght now I am selling on the LA for spring delivery. However, weather won't permit shipping here until Mid-April, which is stated in the auction.More snow/ sleet is forecast for Friday!

I have also purchased a few daylilies for spring delivery. When the plants arrive, I'll leave feedback for the sellers. As a seller, I post feedback when payments arrive so that the buyers will know their payments arrived. But certainly I wouldn't expect the buyers to give any feedback until they get their orders - why would they? ( Have to wonder if those who don't give feedback until they ship are doing this to remind their buyers to post feedback also?)

So,with the delay between payment received and shipping date of about 6-7 weeks, some people will forget to give feedback weeks from now, , but those who remember are certainly appreciated. IMHO, those of us who use the auction fairly frequently try to "do it right."

I do not leave feedback for sellers until the plants arrive in my climate that is May. One time plants from one seller did not arrive when they were suppose to. After giving him extra time I sent a email asking about the plants, he started checking turned out he used my address but the wrong state he corrected the problem. When the problem was resolved and the plants arrived I left positive feedback stating that a shipping problem was quickly resolved. I do ask sellers to leave feedback for me when they get my payment so I know it arrived.

Adding that there are some sellers that don't leave feedback and sell very nice plants I have purchased from the LA since 2001 seems like more are leaving feedback these days or else I am not buying from those that don't.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime plant a garden!

I do wish everyone would mark me paid when they get the money, I understand some people are busy but it would save me the trouble of emailing them or researching it myself. But also there is the feedback thing, most leave me feedback and mark me paid when they get the money. Plus a confirmation email from LA.

I was thinking maybe abundantdalilies uses that button when he ships? There is a separate button for the seller when he ships though. He probably has his own little system all worked out.

I leave feedback when I get the order. That Bulk feedback button will come in real handy. Some have their own website and it is easy to do a recommendation for them. But the small vendors I just post pictures on the threads. It is good to see and hear about other peoples experiences.

This is how it looks when they ship and receive feedback from me.

Not too long ago the shipped part of the invoice did not exist so what sellers would do ( and I have seen them say this in the "about me" or in the description) is once they shipped then they would leave feedback and say shipped on 2/20/13 (for ex). Also, not all sellers use the lily auction to keep track of their sales, it can be downloaded into another program (or document) so if the seller is keeping track of the paids on their own program then they may not think about or have time to go to the LA also. I know it seems easy to just toggle something, but when you have hundreds and hundreds of orders, payments, etc and track it in your own program then it can be time consuming to go and do it elsewhere.
I just mark mine paid when I PayPal or have the payment in the mailbox so I don't worry about if the seller does this or not.
Now for the feedback, I used to worry about getting my feedback when I was new and needed the number to go up and I had emailed a couple of people that said they do ALL of their feedback for buyers when they are done selling.

That's what I was thinking, he has his own system worked out and he was probably using it long before they added the shipped part.
Mike44, told me he would do all that when he shipped. So if that is the way he does it then that is fine. I know some sellers have full time jobs and do not have time for that. I expected this because Mike was the first person I bought from and I had a lot of questions, he told me this is how it would go.

Thanks for the explaination about the green buttons. I went to my "won" auctions and saw the different green buttons. Abundantdaylilies has not toggled his paid button for me also. So I have the green button where I toggled it myself, or the green box. Under it are some where they marked it as paid.

Once he sends me an email to ask me when I want shipment, I know he is going to send them. I thought it was MY job to toggle the button as paid, since it is on "my" page when I pull it up. I think you are upset for no reason. You could always ask Mike Longo what the protocol is for the paid button.

Dot

Dot,

I didn't know I could mark them as paid, being the buyer. I thought the seller had to do it.

The last time I bid on the LA was 2000 - 2004 and I didn't start bidding again until this past Fall. These paid or pay now buttons are new to me.

I wished that kind of thing had come up on the Daylily forum before this and then I wouldn't have gotten so upset. At least I didn't see any threads regarding it.

I just went and clicked the button that all 3 were paid.

If he had stated in his email stating he got payment that I could click the buttons to go ahead and mark it paid, that would have been great.

Susan,

"That Bulk feedback button will come in real handy." The is new to me! Between 2000 - 2004, I didn't see a bulk feedback button, otherwise I would have use it.

Thanks everyone for your comments! Thumbs up

The bulk feedback is great! It really comes in handy for those that have several plants / seeds from a single seller. It is a time saver and we all need that.

I am well but taking my sister to Vanderbilt this morning for a CT scan and ckup. The fun part is we are attending a hosta meeting at 6 pm in Nashville.

I have been in contact with a few of the Region 10 folks on starting a dl/hosta club in Bowling Green. Wish me luck.

Just this AM I notice that the "My lilies" page has been changed! I went to check on the items I am currently selling and it is different. It will take some time to get used to the new format of this too.

I saw that too. It said that it said use the 'my bidding', button to refresh the page because it is faster than the browser. My browser seemed ok but who knew? I was really confused when all my stuff said 'UP Bid' I thought I had lost on everything!!! Still trying to get my stomach out of my throat. Rolling on the floor laughing Whistling
