Marilyn, animals and plants can be a "tricky" combo...I have a friend who live traps any cats in his yard, then drives to a place several miles away and releases them, he feels justified because he has fences up, and a dog, and he is an avid "birder" and feels that domestic cats are contributing to the demise of song birds, and that no one should allow their cats to run free...we've had so many "back n forths" about it, and finally I just tell myself its not my business and I'm glad he doesn't live near me, because it would be more of a problem if I witnessed his behavior (rather than just hearing about it!) My long winded point is that I appreciated hearing your point of view, I understand Chris protecting her semps, yet it does make me sad that it can get "messy"
Chris glad that no more bunnies are getting into your garden!!! I'll have to check out what plantskydd is
Aw shucks since I'm already long winded I have one more "tear your heart out story" a building mate of mine was walking down the alley and heard a mewing, I don't know why but he called me - like what am I supposed to do? Anyway I went outside and together we located what was making the noise - a very small kitten had gotten out of its home (from whereever??) and got stuck in those glue sticky rat traps (live traps which then kill the animal because they starve) We spent more than an hour together trying to get this poor thing unstuck, he was in shock and it was so sad! But we did get him out, and brought him to the animal shelter and they said these types of traps are illegal in Seattle (I see them all over! and I "get" that people don't want rats, but its really annoying!) Again I have to mark it up to different values and my hope is that people will become more compassionate with animals!
