Not sure but it looks like a Bromeliad bloom to me.

Well, I'm not real great at comparing pictures but I think that's it, commonly called "Matchstick Plant": Matchstick Plant (Aechmea gamosepala)

that's conceivable...matter of fact I now remember in that set of pics (from MOBOT) there's some tree-dwellers. Any idea as to the species?
