We had almost record heat this 4th of July weekend.. in the upper 90s and almost 100 degrees on Monday, which is ridiculous for our area. Normals are supposed to be in the mid 80s. What I had done the week before was watered & fed like gangbusters heavily so my poor roses could take the extreme heat, then just let them alone during the frying time. And, because of all the mulch I have around my yard & the fact that it *is* the 4th of July weekend, I watered lightly on both Sunday (about 94-96degs) and Monday (99degs) so that the mulch wouldn't catch fire should a firework land on it. Now, tonight, I need to deadhead desperately.. my front yard is full of spent blooms. But I did get some pretties this morning, including a lot of new ones!

Wow! Your yard must be really festive with so many roses blooming now. I really like your Koko Loko - lovely color.

If you can excuse the mess on the front porch, here's what the front yard looks like. I don't have any decent pictures of the back yard on this machine (actually, I don't have any decent pictures of the back yard because the back yard isn't decent yet!). Excuse crap on the porch & sidewalk!

Yes, Hawkeye Belle does look like Hawkeye Belle now. Those maiden blooms can be so deceptive.

They all look great, Toni, and I see lots of roses that aren't in our database yet. Woohoo! Hurray! I'm still waiting for a full database page with photos for every entry so I can yell "Bingo!"

Got rain all night last night so couldn't deadhead (sorry, won't play out in a lightning storm). This morning everything was beat to hell, but I did get 2 more shots of Yankee Doodle as he's new for me and I never saw him bloom at all last year (got him late). Full bush shot is with a Perfume Tiger on the left.

Because it's been raining so much for the past week, I got very very few blooms. Plus I deadheaded almost every rose in the front (need to work on the back & side yards this weekend). But I did get a couple of mini blooms this morning.
