I have a few little phals showing their first blooms. This is the chorus line of rescues from the Lowe's death rack last fall. All but one has buds ready to go.

First two are rescues, third one is my little Phal amabilis var formosanum "Variegata"

Things are opening very slowly here, but I got two different shots of Blc. Zul 'Waiomao fantasy' today.

I like the color on that Blc, Carol. Very nice.

Those little Phals are cute, Elaine. They seem to get no respect from the big boys but I still like them.

Bc. Hippodamia (B.nodosa X C. aclandiae) is just opening today.


The R. digbyana X L. purpurata has opened a bit more and I am happy I took a chance on her. Nice color and form and some digbyana fringe


Cattleya maxima is just starting to open.


The Phaius are really taking their time


Finally, the Den nobile hybrid. You would have to see it to believe it.

Galaxy Belle looking abit spotty and not very nice from all the rain we had. Alot of orchids rotted, i did save alot. Ive been wipping them over with a metho solution as alot have scale, its taking a lot time to get hrough them all though .

I took some pics out in the OC a few minutes ago and they turned out well. The Cattleya maxima is in full bloom and I love it.


I discovered a single bloom on Rhyncholaelia glauca.


Here is a NOID Cym out by the oak tree.


Cym. Little Black Sambo is blooming away.


I thought this was a nice picture of Arundina graminisolia.


So is this one of Epi. Radicans.


Cym Leodogran 'Cradlemont' has no intention to stop blooming. Thanks, Laurel!

Wow! Impressive! My C. maxima doesn't flower. But my Cym Leodogran 'Craddlemont' from Laurel has 3 spikes! Can't wait.

I tried C maxima twice throughout the years. The plants somehow never liked my growing conditions and eventually expired. The Laurel - Cym is really something, you all do very well with it!

In the meanwhile, my Epi longipetalum x Laelia lundii is happily blooming again.

Ascocentrums garayi and christensonianum are still blooming


Renanthera monachica starts opening a very nice, branched spike.


I had bought the Dendrobium findleyanum at the North Jersey Orchid Show in January, mainly for the interesting growth. It did have a couple of buds then, which opened over the weekend.


And there is the tiny Dendrobium toressae

That is a gorgeous Cym. I like the name best, always imagine Sean Connery saying "Leodogrrran Crrrradlemont" rolling his rrr's all the way.

That Catt Maxx really is fabulous, too.

Ursula, wonderful Epi longipetalum x Laelia lundii. I love it. What a strange growth pattern on that Dendrobium. I can see why you bought it.

Ken, there are so many different types of Dendrobiums that I could not give you a blanket answer. Let me just say that I grow most of mine in baskets, not pots and I agree with the mix recommended by Tarev for most of them. Other types do very well mounted on wood.
