We are not melting yet and have more than 20' of snow on the ground. I'm glad for the snow but I'll be glad when it starts melting too. Blinking I look at some of the forums where people already have flowers up that are starting to bloom and I get just a little bit jeolous and impatient for spring to show up here. It will be lovely to see the ground again! Smiling

We are starting to thaw here. But, I am not holding my breath. Last year this time, we were grilling and heavily into the garden. Trees were blooming, and I've never seen lilacs and trees bloom that early, this far north. We were more like Virginia than Northern Indiana (not far south of the Michigan line). This year...very normal. Haven't had "normal" in a long, long time.

I am getting a little envious reading about flowers already up and blooming, too. Guess we'll just have to wait a little while longer.

We got 10 more inches of snow Sunday and Monday and still not melting. We have so much snow it's getting hard to find a place to push it. I must be getting old cause throwing snow as high as my shoulders isn't near as easy as it use to be. Hilarious! It's suppose to get a little bit above freezing next week Hurray! Hurray! So maybe soon...

Guess I'm going to stop complaining. Most of our snow is gone and we actually had RAIN yesterday. I see tulips breaking ground! And little green bumps of iris. I just hope that we don't get snow in June like we did one year! Rolling my eyes.

How fun Woofie, to see the signs of spring! It will come here too I'll just have to be patient for awhile more and I am so glad for the moisture but I'm ready for it to be in the form of rain instead of snow. nodding

Thanks Woofie, It helps me to keep my perspective when I look at it and remember that there ARE flowers underneath all that snow just waiting for some sun so they can come out and bloom! Smiling

Still cold and snowy here. We had a few days of melting but suppose to be more snow the next few days. It better start warming up soon cause I get anxious to get outside and can't so I just plant more stuff and there's no where left to keep it all. Hilarious!
I don't have any idea where I'm gonna plant it all Whistling Maybe I'll have to have a plant sale. nodding

And I am sooooo far behind! I still need to finish starting petunias or I'm not going to have some of my favorites this year! But I was dutiful and started a few veggie seeds in the GH today. (Booooooooring! Hilarious! ) And it's warm enough here now that in addition to worrying about getting things started, I now have to worry about the weeds taking over the garden! Eeeeek!! Too many things to do and no where near enough time OR energy! Blinking

I'm afraid that energy thing is gonna be a problem for me too when I finally can see my garden and go to work Hilarious!
To much sitting around this winter when I should have been excercising. Sticking tongue out

Still snow on the ground in spots here in Southern Maine. I just made two cold frames to try and get a head start on some plants and veggies Smiling I have my basement sump pump aimed at my Hugelkultur bed to try and soak it where its the first year for the bed. Can't wait to throw some green beans at it!

Welcome! Charlie, Nice to see you here, love your avatar. Thumbs up

This week the weather has been great in my zone for a change, I can't believe how much I have been able to get done this early in the season, the beds are all cleaned up, and I'm doing good at getting the edging done, the daylilies are looking good, other perennials, rhubarb are up. Hurray!

Wow, Charlie, that is a pretty dramatic contrast between last year and this! Our weather has been sort of backwards from last year. We generally have snow well into April and May, but it's all gone this year! The last of it melted a few days ago. And it's supposed to rain tonight!
