Just thought I'd start a fun thread for folks to share their most anticipated new spring blooms. Those of you in the southern hemisphere can list what hasn't yet bloomed for you---or maybe what you are hoping to acquire in the coming year. Smiling

I have so many new-to-me irises that haven't bloomed that I am really looking forward to seeing, it is hard to choose. Here are four:

TB Don't Doubt Dalton
Acquired this year at the Iowa Arboretum iris sale. Such a whimsical iris---it reminds me of a Dalmatian puppy! Hilarious! This is my first space-ager, too.

SDB Neon Dream from our own Kent Pfeiffer

TB Shocker Unusual color combo and has a sweet fragrance.

MDB Zheng Elf from Winterberry. A darling little bloom! Lovey dubby

Please share your most anticipated blooms! Smiling

Laurie, do let us know how you like Shocker when it blooms. That one has been on my wish list!

Lots of gorgeous ones, Daisy! It will be interesting to hear how these all do for you. I have Bluebeards Ghost, and it is one of my favorites. I've had Shocker for a year now---no bloom this year, so it should bloom next year. I hope!

And Richard, Xanthippes Halo is so colorful. I hope you do get a few blooms---didn't you say you were potting them for now?

Leslie. I'm potting them up till I get a better place which hopefully will be last move.

I want blue beards ghost. It's on my list with like 125 wanted irises (I know, to ma y).

I also have some daffodils potted as well.

Here are some of the ones I am looking forward to seeing first blooms on this year. They were planted in 2020 but did not bloom this year.
TB Art Deco

TB Lady Juliet

TB Pinafore Pink

Here are a few that I received this year so not sure if I will see blooms in 2022 or not. I am hoping I do. I will only list a few now and more later.
TB Accessorized

TB Arctic Express

TB Autumn Sapphire

TB Emma's Laughter

TB Espionage

TB Ida Red

TB Glacier Point

The above Iris came from an NGA member for postage. I hope I get to see them bloom this next year but some of them are iffy.

Fun thread with beautiful photos.

I'm looking forward to meeting 'Dark Universe'. I got a non-blooming size rhizome of it as a door prize in 2020, potted it, then planted it in the ground in September. It has put out three increases already, so I'm hoping it'll bloom next spring.

i'm looking forward to 'moonglint', a similarly colored iris. it was a very generous gift, from a keppel order this year. it suffered from a rot set back early after its arrival, we were experiencing a lot of wet and then hot and sunny days. i'd water because the pots were newly planted and the soil was dry, then we'd get days of drizzly cool days, then scorching hot days in-between.

very confusing time….'wealth' another bonus, suffered as well. i sprinkled comet, crossed my fingers, and hoped for the best.

at the moment, they look okay; they've even sprouted increases. they'll continue to live in the small pots until summer next year. this schedule seems to work best for the iris in my garden. (pot for a year, then plant in the garden.)

Daphne, hopefully they will thrive for ya. It's always disheartening when they don't make it.

Moonglint is very pretty. Sprouting increases is a good sign - glad that you managed to rescue it!

Jeanne, you have lots of pretty white ones. I'll be interested to hear which ones you like best. That photo of Accessorized with the hint of blue on the beard is pretty. Smiling

I am looking forward to seeing Crimson Tiger and Big Break because the broken pattern on the blooms vary a lot.

I'm so excited for some i planted this year.

1)
King's Reign (look at the wee orange beard!)

2)
Gay Romance

I'm more anxious about others -- not exactly buyer's remorse... but maybe...
3)
Flash of Light (I bought this one instead of Wabash for a reason I can't recall. On paper, I regret not getting wabash now.
... In real life, we shall have to see what she can do.)

4)
Australian Rose (... it's so much more *yellow* in some photos than others)
(for comparison)
It's just a world of difference (to me, and you all think it's crazy).
If she comes up really very yellow, things may not work out between us.

Gay Romance is pretty. I took one look at it and said to myself, I'll bet this one has Bluebird of Happiness in its ancestry. So, I went to it in the database and checked, and sure enough, it has BBoH not just once, but twice in ts ancestry.
