I'm giving a lecture to the Beaumont gardening club next Wednesday Tuesday, March 19th, at 9:30am. I'll be talking about permaculture, hugelkultur, companion planting, vegetables, and a lot about ATP. I'd love if any of you could come!
Jay and Betsy, thank you both for coming! I hope it was worth the drive in! It was wonderful to meet you both and I sure enjoyed my time and found Beaumont to be a wonderful city with very friendly people.
Good to finally meet you and Betsy also. It was a short very drive for me,especially since I go out there fairly often anyway. It seemed like everyone enjoyed it.
Name: Betsy Texas (Zone 9a) In the beginning GOD created ...
Dave, it was great to finally meet you (after all the years we've been together...)
Carol and I did enjoy your lecture so much. Afterwards we roamed the gardens; will have to come back to see the roses in bloom.
I will have to get the birdbath cleaned and put my prize copper coin in it. Thanks for the prize!
You mentioned growing and eating gourds; I grow the angled luffa gourd aka Chinese okra/sze gwa and did not realize that it becomes a luffa until recently. We've always brought them at the Oriental store and cooked them before they ever become luffa.
Jay, it was good to met you and Donna. I've been enjoying all the lovely photos that you posted here and your wealth of information on Texas plants.
Betsy, if your interested in nature in general. There is a short nature trail next to the Botanical Garden and Cattail Marsh on the other end of the Tyrell Park. Here's a few picture I took at the marsh earlier this year.
