Just a question....... Why is there not a 'wink'? I'm a 'winker' ( both in 'real life' and it seems also online... Didn't really realize it until posting here, duh me ) ......... But I tend to 'tease' ( for lack of a better word or more coffee (see, right here there would be a 'wink' ;) )) ........... Just curious, this is NOT 'life or death'...... ( I just gotta figure out what to use instead )

Except a wink is more subtle than either of those, but I understand your not wanting a plethora of emoticons

I don't mind adding any new ones, actually, as long as they make good sense to have, and if it matches and plays well with the other ones.

How about a sleepy emoticon?

I like a winking one, but I don't know about a sleepy one. It could be construed in a negative way, and being so easy to quickly (read: without thinking) click in, it could cause a lot of inadvertent and unnecessary strife among posters. (I have to say, though, that unlike other forum sites, the angry emoticon is seldom used here, and I am very grateful.)

We have used it on occasion in the Sempervivum forum, when discussing the destruction of plants by critters.
Maybe we are hoping the angry emoticon will chase the critters away.

I use the grumbling (angry) emoticon a lot ... usually for the same reason as Lynn stated; when my plants are being destroyed by critters. I hope that one doesn't get deleted.

That emoticon is my fall season emoticon. I hope we don't loose it.
That's when both the squirrels and blue jays want to replant all my beds and lawns.

The grumbling and angry emoticons are almost interchangeable for me. I recently discovered the glare emoticon and it's perfect for expressing my emotions when I'm discussing something inexplicably stupid.

No, no. What I was alluding to was the use of Mr. Angry toward other people or toward other people's ideas, etc.
Such quick, off-the-cuff use could be translated as name calling, and could easily get out of hand, causing hard feelings.

I should have said that "I am thankful that members here do not misuse the emoticon".

That would not be a very nice thing to do.
