Beautiful shots Sherry, I have to go out and see what I have blooming, I think my nectarine is too. I know my weeping Santa Rosa Plum is blooming. I have been too busy taking baby pictures of my 1 week old grandson instead. Lovey dubby

I do, too! I like it so much that I'm thinking of using it as a repeating backbone in a 'hedge'. I'm afraid that I tend to want to do that when I like something that's substantial enough to act as a hedge alone or mixed. I'd like to do a hedge of Tuscan Blue rosemary..a hedge of Hot Lips salvia...etc. I'm finding myself more and more drawn to the tough, rustic looking, drought tolerant plants. The Africana and Africana 'Kirstenbosch' are both well established and were given hardly any water this past summer...I fully expected them to die, but they've hung in there amazingly well.

This is the same salvia...one grown in full sun with very little water, unimproved soil, about 5' x 5'...

This one is grown in rich soil in part shade beneath an avocado tree, ample water, climbs to over 12' or more...

Sherry - I love your Limonium. I had one plant a few years ago, but it did not come back after two years. I have not found any to buy in this area - only the regular statice.

Also in bloom - Euphorbia

Soils...the Perez's Sea Lavender...either too hot or too cold for it there? It's such a staple around here that it's available everywhere and once you have it, you have it forever. I used to grow the annual limonium and then till it in at the end of the season. It came up everywhere. I've never checked the Perez for seeds, but will do so this year. I haven't grown any of the euphorbias but will have to do that...lol..I think it's the tasmanian that caught my attention recently.

Spring...love the camellias. I think I would like those too....and hyacinth....my dad used to grow those in the backyard. When I was little, I asked him why he killed them and he'd have to tell me not to worry, that they'd come back.

Sherry, the Tasmanian Tiger euphorbia is great but the one I am really impressed with right now is 'Ascot Rainbow, just fabulous! I'll have to take a new shot of one of mine, it looks so good. I love anything that is a contrast to greens and both of these stand out in the garden.
