You all know all that black isn't good, black absorbs heat. We don't want them to burn up after they dry out a bit....

Black isn't that much of a problem here in the Willamette Valley. Even if daytime temps are high, night time is in the upper 50's or lower 60's. Always cools down at night.
But I love the idea of painting them. Hmmm, maybe a light stone gray color? So they still look like little mortars?

I saw Walmart had some Granite paint. I bet a gray would be beautiful., you are right. or even terra cotta....

I just thought the granite color would look more realistic for a mortar. I'll have to go to Walmart, we have one here in Dallas.
