I actually did more surgery on them and ended up with four plants from the one. It really is that easy, twit taught us. I figure if I can sew a huge L shaped tear in one of our horse, I could cut into a heuffelii. Thumbs up

Now you are all ready to go out and do surgery on your heuffelii. Although they are really interesting when you let them grow into a large clump.

I'm impressed - you actually sewed up a wound in your horse?

Good tutorial Lynn, nice pictures!

Thank you Chris. And that would be a yes. We lived out in the middle of nowhere, with no vet available. It was on her chest.

Greg, I only do the surgery if I think I will need more plants. They really are beautiful in a large clump, but the only way to share them is to do surgery. It is amazing how fast they recover. This is a time your really don't want them to get a bunch of water. I do like twit suggests, just a little sip, or misting.
