I didn't know there was a baby until i planted it.

If you look close or click on it you can see all the new growth, there's a lot of little green tips starting on the Sedum rupestre 'blue spruce'
I thought the 'blue spruce' would look good mixed with the 'Angelina'.I bought a six pack of the 'Angelina' & taking them apart so many pieces broke off but they are so easy to root i will have enough to put in a few places or share some.I just lay the broken pieces on the soil & put a piece of pea gravel on one end,it roots fast. Thumbs up

In the back is my Upright Sedum circle, semp's are to the down & to the side.

I am going to keep rooting pieces of the Sedum rupestre 'blue spruce until i have a nice little patch of it.

I need to go get some more pea gravel.I learned a lesson the hard way,it was getting dark one evening when i picked up a few bags of pea gravel. The next day when i started to fill in places that need either more or didn't have any yet the gravel i bought was almost all a very bright white, blinding. The gravel i had been using had a lot of brown rock in it.Tried mixing the 2,worked ok mixed 2 brown to 1 of the white.Ended up using it to mix into the compost before putting it down.I am out of the darker pea gravel. That's why the back doesn't have any down yet,we put a board up to keep anything from washing until we can get some more done to it.

I love the Sempervivum 'black' i thought it was beautiful with the evening sun shining across it,had to run (send hubby) for my camera.

Thanks everyone, you asked for pictures as it came along & it was nice the temp. almost got up to 80 F yesterday.

I found an article on pinterest, when i get a chance i will get a link to it.It's about putting newspaper down, wetting it,adding the soil for a raised bed and then plant away.It says the newspaper will keep grass & weeds out.As it decomposes it'll give you good healthy earth worms and then breakdown completely.

I don't don't how every feels about worms but i have a worm bed that i take castings from & add to or around plants.Every gardener knows lots of earth worms means fertile soil,to bad i only have a colony of them down, down back.I rack back leaves that have been there years and have lots of rich mulch.

this is a pile of forest mulch i got last summer dumped right at the 2nd terrace, the one behind my house.Something is bedding down next to my compost pile the grass you see on it when you click on it has been pulled up & looks slung from side to side & the grass left is flatten next to the pile.
Thumb of 2013-03-17/jojoe/679467
When i say down, down back i mean down back & then down the 3rd. terrace which ends in a creek before it goes back up hill.

Again thanks everyone, can't wait until the others come from Simply Succulents Hurray! Hurray! include my first jovi Thumbs up

What a beautiful piece of property. Lovey dubby

The newspaper really does work. Just be sure to put it down nice and thick. Or you can use cardboard. Both work well. Thumbs up

And cover the newspaper or cardboard up right away or the wind will take it far, far, away! Rolling on the floor laughing (Experience talking here!) But it makes a great weed barrier.
