Cute. To prevent us children from picking her flowers my grandmother told us they wouldn't ever bloom again if you pick them.

I know a lot of people who wont' pick their flowers. I think flowers are meant to be picked. Makes more flowers then!

We wanted to pick her tulips so much.

That's okay, they are succulents, and hopefully some members learned something new about out much loved sempervivum.

It's been an educational week! I've enjoyed it, and been envious - it's still winter here, so I will have to wait until the snow melts to see what all my 'babies' look like. *sigh*

Yep, still plenty of (too much) snow here. I can never seem to open up my beds until mid to late April - and, even then, they could still get snowed on some more.
