I have a couple S. adolphii 'golden sedum' & another i need to get an id to be sure.

They are cold hardy in my zone 8,but how do they do planted in a raised rock garden. If they can be planted in a bed any advice would be appreciated.

I have more than 1 so maybe 1 in the bed & another in a pot.Can they stay outside all winter when in a pot? The pot just needs to stay dry so the water in the pot won't freeze the roots correct?? Confused Confused

If they stay in a protected place, no rain and kept on the dry side. In the ground I lost them in my zone 8. Way to wet during winter. The ones on the covered deck have done fine. I only gave them a bare sip of water may 3 times since last November.

You could always sink the pot in the ground and take it back up for winter? Or just set the pot out for the growing season?

After rreading what Lynn wrote, I actually said out loud, Lynn that's a great idea, when i scrolled down i laughed out loud, Rolling on the floor laughing when i read Greg said the same thing!! Hilarious! and all at the same time i thought that would be perfect for my little kitty.

I have 2 plants planted together in that one pot.I rooted them in the pot together.I am going to have to take one out because if i can leave the Sedum out under a porch,Vera Isn't cold hardy (i think will look it up) i believe if i left it outside we would be sending Vera Higgins to the great succulent garden in the sky.Can the re-pot them in the fall or can they not take as much sun as each other.

In the corner of this picture you can see some of the rooster, click it and you can see more with it enlarged.

Just saw this Jojoe, and thought you should post this in the container forum so more "others" can enjoy! Hurray! I love it. Your grandson comes up with some good ones except when he's pulling and separating stuff.... Sad

I'm glad you came back to this thread. Made me realize that I need to go post my face/head containers to that thread. That way we would have them all in one place.
