All your hard work is paying off - it sure looks nice. Did you paint the bird on the rock? It's very cute!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. We had a good hard rain last night & bed held up great !! Hurray! Hurray!
The bird was painted on that rock about 13 years ago,i was using a rock to prop open the tack room door in my horse stables. My mother-in-law seen it and she found a rock with a flat side that would stand up and she done it.My in-laws done all my yard art & even some stuff inside.Blue bird needs to be touched up,i just seen it and thought it would give it a touch of family & a little private memory for me & my horses.

The only problem i'm having is squirrels digging up acorns in the bed but they haven't hurt anything yet.I don't know why they are going through the trouble of digging these up there's acorns everywhere here?? nodding Shrug!

The plantskyddt (sp) arrived today but as long as they don't taste, play in or dig up a semp or anything digging for acorns i don't think it will be a problem. Will be keeping an eye on the million that live here!!! Whistling

Does anyone recognize these? In this book she calls them Sugaree but haven't been able to find them.If anyone has any idea of another semp that looks like this one or may be this one just under a different name,I appreciate any info.I liked the book a lot it was a really interesting book.I bought it from Barnes and Noble.

I wonder if it could be the one Ed Skrocki had? Sugary, and maybe the name was misspelled along the way?
That is the only reference I can find on that spelling. Shrug!

Google the plant name & what's or who's the other name? Leave it to me to fall in love with a plant in a book mislabeled Shrug! Confused Lovey dubby

Hilarious! That's funny Jojoe! Just want to make sure that you know that many semps when blooming look like this - it does take a few years to bloom usually but the flowers are big heavy stalks like in the photo!! I tip my hat to you.

Sugary is one from 1981. I don't see it for sale anywhere. There is an entry in our database, but no photos.
There is a photo at this site. http://translate.google.com/tr...

It also shows that SMG had it at one time. You might contact Don and see if he still has it in his inventory. Smiling

Greg, Yea i know they are all in bloom, wonder how they managed that for that picture.I actually since seeing this picture in my new book seen another picture of a plant that looked a lot like it in a magazine i get??? Rolling on the floor laughing Sad the universe is rubbing it in.
this picture came out of March/April 2013 Gardening How-to magazine. Do these pictures look anything like S. 'Sir William Lawrence' to anyone? I like the bright red tips and the almost lime green color of the leaves below the red tip's

Just asking, the picture's i posted didn't come off the internet. The name of the magazine that i named in the post is where i found the picture & i took a picture of the picture. Shrug! So is it alright to post pictures from books & magazines or is that the same as taking a picture off the internet? It didn't say anything about copyright issue's? *Blush*

If i made a mistake I apologize and learned my lesson won't do it again if books & magazines are off limit someone tell me please Crying moma always said the best lessons learned are the ones learned the hard way!! Whistling

Hope everyone has a lovely day!! At least better than mine it's been raining a cold rain for 2 days. Sad But the new section of the rock garden is holding & draining good so far!!! Hurray!
