Some day we'll have a story to tell about this variety. But now we are happy to announce that we have very nice plants available for sale, to begin shipping on April 8th.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White

I've already sent you an email stating that I want TWO (2) plants!!! We'll discuss the additional payment to my existing order. (as well as another Salvia that we've talked about)
I have my pre-order in (for one plant, did not want to be a hog hahaha).
Kermit, I am very excited to also get S. cardiophylla. Now to see if I can keep it alive here in Delaware. From the description on your web site, it appears the species prefers dry feet, or at least drier than most of the xeric species?

It would respond to "garage" overwintering very much like the guaranticas, but somewhat more tender. I know a lot of people overwinter guaranticas - perhaps someone can jump in with some of their techniques.

I just don't want to lose it. Hopefully, you'll have lots of Amistad to offer next year Kermit, then I wouldn't worry about overwintering it. I don't usually overwinter anything.
Marilyn, I'm like that also...to some degree! I hate to plant new things that have to be brought in during the winter or put in a greenhouse (which i don't have). Occasionally, I'll bring in some things when the freeze might be too severe. Mostly, I'll just cover a limited number of plants outside, since it's not usually all that cold here. I remember we had one night briefly dipping into single digits just once since I've lived here and that was before I even had a garden...back in '90, I think. That was quite a shock for people here in Texas!
