I always find this pretty flower growing throughout my yard. The foliage is narrow and dark green like a typical rain lily, but the flowers are incredibly small. I always though rain lilies had larger blooms.

Not sure what you are calling "rain lily", but Zepheranthes candida has a single bloom per stalk, and usually blooms in late summer. Maybe an Ornithogalum? Apicture of the whole plant would be helpful.

Definitely a "Rain Lily". My first thought was maybe Zephyranthes atamasca: http://www.wildflower.org/plan... but I'm not sure that one is found in your area.

It looks like an Allium to me. Does it smell like an onion?

Does it have a fragrance? It kinda reminds me of the wild onions we get here.

It has a very pungent smell. It kind of reminds me of onion but its a very light onion smell. I dug up a small clump and it has hundreds of small bulbs.

I gave it another whiff and it does have an oniony/garlic scent

Oh my goodness ... y'all are so good! I really thought it was a rain lily of some sort. It sure is a pretty flower ... I can just imagine fields of that beauty everywhere!

I've never seen it before but this site shows it in Florida, maybe it's found in the more northern areas of the state: http://www.wildflower.org/plan...

Thanks everyone for iding another plant for me. I always assumed it was a rain lily because I would see the blooms sporadically after it rained. I'm constantly mowing them down unfortunately.

We always called this Crow's Bane and our pastures get covered with it every spring.

I really like them too. I may dig up a couple of clumps and plant them in some containers, just to save them from the mower.
