Gotcha,I had been talking about the book i purchased & about the one semp i liked so much but couldn't find it.Then one night i got the bright idea of taking a picture of the picture in the book.

If anyone is interested the book is called Tough Plants for Every Climate HARDY SUCCULENTS By:Gwen Moore Kelaidis, Photography by Saxon Holt. It's a very good book with lots of good information and idea's.

I want to ask does anyone have or know of Jovi 'Fanfare'? I seen a picture of some and you can't always tell the exact size of something in a picture especially without anything to compare it to.It looked like it was so tall but didn't give a height that i seen?I couldn't find it in the database.I know Jovi's are larger than a semp but how much or is it just like most other plants, different varieties are/get bigger than others?

Hope all have a good night Thumbs up

Hey Jojoe, you have a good night too! I haven't seen the Fanfare one - and now you're making me think of a question - are there different sized Jovi's like there are Semps?? Hmmm I hope Lynn or Chris see this to be able to answer! I tip my hat to you. Thumbs up

Yes, there are different sizes of J. heuffelii.
Small type, this one is in a 4" pot and is full sized rosettes. I grow this one and Kapo, which is another small heuffelii.

Kapo is in the foreground with h. 'Apache' behind. Apache can get quite large.

'Fan Fair' ... HOWARD J. WILLS (UK) ... JOVIBARBA HEUFFELII
I haven't found a source in the states for this one, or a photo. Sad

I just happen to have that book Jelinda. I found the photo your talking about. Your right, no way of know the size of it. Sure is a nice one though.
I wonder if Timberline Nursery would care it? They don't do online sales. It is outside the Denver, CO area.

Wow Jelinda, you just gave me a great idea. I split this topic off the other thread. What a great way to share ideas and questions about plants in this book. Hurray!
The cover is enough to make you want to get the book.
Look at what she did with the face mask in a container of semps and orostachys, on page 57. Lovey dubby

I have the Kelaidis book too, and LOVE it. Also good are Succulents for the Contemporary Garden by Yvonne Cave and Succulent Container Gerdens by Debra Lee Baldwin.
