Since I started talking about plants here I became more curious about other plants. Asking the owner of this plant what it is, I couldn't get an answer so I ask you, maybe somebody knows. The plant was just fine until last Fall then in the windy season (Santa Ana winds) some of its leaves were broken. Nobody took care of it so this is how it looks now.

This is here, in Southern California. It looks pretty beat up but it's that way since last year, so I guess it might just wake up now that spring came. Should they trim the broken leaves?

It's potted and the pot was full of some kind of white-flower weed, nice looking but they finally cleaned the pot.

I'm not a palm expert...don't even like them, but for an Id you need to show the trunk. As that is a very immature tree, that might not even do it. At that size, if it were a coconut palm, you could probably see the remnants of the coconut. LOL!
Definitely a palm but it's hard to tell from the photo which one it might be. It reminds me of the Queen Palm (Syagrus romanzoffiana) that we see a lot of here in Florida.
Yeap, it resembles a Queen Palm from the pics of young ones. I will try to sneak a photo of the trunk today, if I have time.

I didn't take anymore pictures but I think you're right Lin, it looks like a Queen Palm. They are not pleased that the leaves are not coming back after the winds but I think they are broken not only bent, so should they trim them maybe?
