The ones I sowed last weekend have sprouted!
Even tomatoe seeds sowed on Monday! All under lights in the basement.
It is always a big thrill to see the first sprouts!

And now it is Boo Hoo no petunia sprouts!???
They have died on me so I am starting over with petunias.

Such is Gardening sometimes.

You're right, Caroline. Those first sprouts are always a thrill!

(I'd better get busy sowing!)

Hurray! I know what you mean! When I start seeds, when I get up I grab a cup of coffee and check to see if there are any sprouts before I do anything else!

My only shelf with lights is in my bedroom. I don't have them on a timer, so they are the first thing I see in the morning when I turn the lights on, and the last thing at night when I turn the lights off.

And in-between, when I overwater them or play with their humidity tents.

I'm excited, too. I have 9 flats all sprouted, with a very few exceptions. I'm hoping I don't have to pot anything up too soon....our spring weather here is abysmal.

I started some too early again, and I have plants instead of sprouts!! My Agastache Apache Sun has flowers and I'm having a hard time finding room for everything that needs to go into larger pots.

I feel your pain, Teri. I have done that too many times. My mother is in northern MI and she started cucumbers about a month ago. What was she thinking?

I'm resorting to put them in the unheated sun room and leave 2 of those electric oil heated radiators on now and then. I'll be able to put my purple, lavender and blue shades of petunias with a center of Aster Liliput Blue Moon in the center. The metal table out there can hold lots of large pots.

Those oil filled heaters are great! I have one out in the GH....and one in my frigid bedroom!

Ha! And thanks for the reminder, Arlene: I need to start cucumbers! I did the same as your Mom one year, so now I usually forget till it's too late!

I just seeded a small tray of petunias late Saturday. It's awfully late. I usually wintersow them, but it's so cold this year, I gave up and seeded a tray under lights. It's late and weather is still cold. They should begin to flower around August. Hilarious!

I have delphiniums up! So happy. I actually had the seeds in the freezer and almost forgot about them.

And I threw some Globe Amaranth, Strawberry Fields very old seed in to see what would happen so now I have a tray FULL of seedlings.

I am so jealous!! I want sprouts too!!

Maybe next week. After tonight we are supposed to be over 40 every night for 7 days! And low 50's during the day.

I'm going to move my jugs into full sun to try and speed up the process!

Should be any day now for yup. With all your jugs, they'll be popping up right and left!
