I'm pushing it a bit since it is so early in the season, but couldn't resist. I seeded some alyssum & pansies really early and need to make room for other plants in the greenhouse. Here's my little display with some pussy willows

Yes, that is my kitten wondering what the pussy willow is. I added a few more plants today. The container has Pansies, Alyssum, Lobelia, Stock and the pussy willows. For the snow: We can get snow until June. I will cover the plants for the 1st week at night. We still have below freezing temps at night, but these are all tough plants that can handle freezing temps. If I loose them, I have a bunch more. I started some stuff extra early and now have a space issue in the greenhouse. I cleaned up some south facing flower beds and there are a bunch of perennials that are just starting to poke up. Dafffidols and tulips are up too

Springcolor! I love the color of the huchera with the daffidols. I tried forcing some bulbs, and some are finished blooming while others have no signs of flower buds yet.

Every year I make up hanging baskets of double early tulips in the fall. I usually use red Abba and yellow Monte Carlo but i decided on a double mix from Scheepers for this spring. I always use new bulbs each year:

I bought enough to also make these three large containers packed with the tulip mix.

These started blooming a little later, tulip Salvo and Green Wave:

I still need to plan for containers for when these will be finished...

I need to post another picture in about a week when the Green Waves are completely open. Most of what you see right now are the pink and white Salvos. I think the Green Waves are what they call viridiflora tulips.

I forgot this one. The daffs are Scheepers pink daffodil mix. They are actually pinker than they look in the photo; I am very pleased with them. In the foreground is a later blooming tulip, Antoinette, a multiflowering one (3 or 4 blooms on one stem). I will take another photo when they open.

The grassy looking plants in the background are a couple of rows of Japanese irises that I use as parents. Last year this bed was all lilies.

Lynn, the hanging baskets are discarded when they are finished. The large containers, I'm not sure. I might decide to discard those also. The daffodils I'll keep.

I went to the Oregon Daffodil Society show on Saturday (here in town). Boy, have daffodils come a long way! We have a number of hybridizers around here. I made a list, of course. I wish I had taken my camera with me.
