I took some pics while in the city Friday. Seems we go there a lot...but at least they will cut the physical therapy sessions for DH down to once a week next month! The bluebonnets are blooming in places, trying to hang in there without any rain for quite a while. The water company there was asking its customers this week to cut outdoor watering in half...immediately. Cute, they waited until people had nursery plants or seedlings going for spring! Maybe they're anticipating the drying up of whatever is left of Medina Lake...although they didn't mention that, of course. Tuesday is looking fairly good for rain...we could use it.

Those are beautiful Linda. I saw a few patches of Bluebonnets at the local community college here. I always thought they bloomed later. I planted several bluebonnet seeds and I'm hoping they bloom this year. Gaura is one plant I've never had luck with. I hope your area gets some rain soon.

I forgot...I took a picture of what I believe is some Crossvine in a shopping center. It was planted on lattice panels on 3 sides of what I guess was some of those utility (?) thingies. I thought that was really a good imaginative idea!

Spring photos are great!

Linda, did you get any rain? We got at least 3" in less than an hour late this afternoon. It rained so hard, it filled up our front courtyard. I've never seen that before. We also had small hail. Our next door neighbor had a tree uprooted and it took some of the roof off when it fell. Today was garbage pickup and the wind blew everything that wasn't secured down the street. It's a mess.

There was golf ball sized hail at the lake. I don't want to call up there and hear how bad it was.

Now we're waiting for the next round here later tonight.

Not a lot yet, something over a half inch so far, I guess. Yeah, I saw those bigcolorful storms lined up along IH35 on the TV while the were warning people of severe weather conditions. I call THAT the IH35 line-UP!

Sandi, I was distracted by the big empty space in your post and didn't read it. That is too much rain for such a short time. I agree with Josephine

Linda, I think it's finally over. The second storm that hit about midnight had lightning and thunder that shook the bed! It was close.
I'll post some photos of what's blooming tomorrow. I have some salvias that didn't drown!

Thanks Josephine, we left a message for our neighbors at the lake, but haven't heard back. They might be traveling. We'll go up Sunday. I have to be here for the festival at the botanical garden Saturday.

We got another inch of rain over night here. The news this morning reported that over 800 houses in the Lost Creek subdivision were without electricity last night. ( We had lights! And we didn't know there were over 800 homes in our subdivision!).

Sure is chilly! Tonight, will be about 44° here! Thought we might have left the 40's behind, but then, I remembered that it's just April 3rd!

Yep, the heater keeps coming on tonight. I never put away summer clothes because we had such a mild winter. I have freesias blooming in my front garden bed. They didn't come up last year and I thought I'd lost them. Guess we should enjoy the cool weather while we can.
