You can't fool me. You can't herd goats. Hilarious!

Oh yes, you can herd goats. And they herd very well with a well trained dog. We had Boarder Collies.
The dog you see in the banner is more for protections against coyotes and other dogs.

Takes more than just a well trained dog. Smiling You need well trained goats, too! Seriously, if the goats aren't used to dogs, they will panic and run. We have a Great Pyr, and she just loves the goats, but they're still nervous around her.

Thanks, I'm glad you like the goats and the herding dog.

The goats were hired by the city of Kamloops for weed control in parks. The goat herders are out of Alberta, with about 400 goats, they have 3 herding dogs, a German Shepard, the Great Pyrenees pictured, and an Australian herding dog, the dogs did a great job of herding and watching the goats.

I thought that was maybe a Great Pyr! And it is a very nice banner! You did a great job incorporating all the elements: goats, weeds, and dog in a skinny banner!

And I wasn't trying to be argumentative. We've been raising goats for over 20 years and our goats are just not comfortable around dogs. They were terrified of our little Border Collie, even though she was an excellent herder. And our Great Pyr is a very gentle girl and very protective of the goats, but the goats were not raised around her, so they tend to panic. I remember a friend of ours trying to use his sheep dog to herd our goats, and all he managed to do was send them running for the cliffs! Sigh, took us 2 days to find them all....... Rolling my eyes.

Woofie, those dogs were great, I loved the Great Pyr, he was the sweetest thing, loved to be petted, he'd lean his big head against me.

Here are a few photos, hope Dave doesn't mind, it was just so cool to see all of those goats, dogs and the herders. Enlarge and you can see the dogs doing their job watching the herd.

Cool pictures! And Dave should know better than to post anything with a dog where I can see it! Hilarious!

And goats are great little weed-eaters! I call them "organic weed-and-feed" because they simultaneously eat the weeds and drop good quality fertilizer. Hilarious!

They really do a good job! We have much fewer noxious weeds on our place than our neighbors do. (they have cows)

There have been times here in Seattle where goats have been hired to clear away blackberries along the freeway! Its fun to see them up along the sides happily munching away! Thumbs up
