Thumbs down well maybe this own root will surprise you. Shrug!

I discovered a rose when I pulled weeds this week, it's growing in the same spot where I had my pot of Pompon Flower Circus and it's about a foot tall. It had rooted through the pot and I moved it last year so I am betting a piece of root has taken off and it's the same rose. Should know soon as it has buds. Thumbs up

Took these shots this morning, the color combo makes me happy! Iris City of Lights, I. Bayberry Candle and Molineux rose.

Next week or so should be explosive in color as most of the roses look like they will be in full bloom. Hurray!

Oh, that one will have no problem growing on its own roots. The original one I gave you was an own-root rose from Northland Rosarium. Hybrid teas and some floribundas and climbers are the ones that need grafting.

That color combo is just beautiful! I just love blue and yellow together in a garden.

zuzu said:Isn't it great, Sue? Unfortunately, it's an own-root rose, so it's never going to get very big, but the blooms are magnificent. I had a nice grafted one, but it went to Florida and never came back. Hilarious!

Well, you know, own root roses do great for me, so if you're looking to shovel prune it... Whistling Whistling Whistling Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing (actually, according to HMF, Burling has it so I just emailed her to see if she has it in stock. I didn't realize that it was the 1996 version she may have. I thought it was the new Weeks version.)

Blinking Blinking Blinking

Just got an email from Burling.. she *does* have the Twilight Zone! Yay!!! So I'll be getting that in the fall when it's a bit more robust (right now, she states that it's too small to ship, which I understand. I'm patient.. NOT!).

I got a giant robust Twilight, the new version, from Edmunds this year. My Pompon flower Circus has never grown to more than a foot tall!
Sue, your iris and rose combination is stunning. On paper, I never would have thought those would work well together but they are just perfect in the photo.
What a treat to see all those colorful roses! I'm in Kansas City for the week, where it's storming so much my poor scardy dog is shaking her teeth out.
Tomorrow we expect snow for the first time ever in the month of May.
I brought a new rose to my parents but we brought it inside tonight. Maybe I'll take it outside and get a photo of snow on the rose and we can use it for the May avatar. nodding
One of my favorite daylilies is named Roses In Snow.....never thought I would see such a thing! Rolling my eyes.
