Another wild Salvia it seems but the cymes or flower growth pattern is out of sync.

The leaf kinda resembles Acanthus sp. to me, but not necessarily the individual flower or how the leaflets follow up the flower stem.

I thought the leaves were like Acanthus too Carter. The flowers however remind me of white dead-nettle, Lamium album.

I spent some time last night looking at Labiatae in the Flora of Pakistan, I found some which were close but nothing to match.

Is it always that you have no power for half a day Arif? I couldn't cope, well if I had to I would but I soon get bored and would be pulling my hair out. Hilarious!

There's several groups in Labiatae, including Salvia in group A

Lamium album doesn't have leaves like your plant Arif. Flowers are very similar though as mentioned above.

I looked at Eremostachys last night Arif, unfortunately there's a lack of images. The one you linked to is not quite right, it has lots of cottony stuff.

The list of species ..

http://www.efloras.org/florata...

The leaves do suggest this genus. I singled out Eremostachys vicaryi as a possibility, there is an illustration on the Flora of Pakistan, the only other image which may be this plant is a herbarium specimen on google images but the link doesn't show it. On the search page it's top middle ..

http://www.google.co.uk/search...

http://www.ethnoleaflets.com/l...

http://www.efloras.org/florata...

http://www.efloras.org/object_...

On the illustration I can't see the smaller leaves under the flowers, the description does mention the flower colour as being white or with a purple marking and "densely white-bearded".

I tip my hat to you. Thank you Janet. I was going to look up Eremostachys in the flora of Pakistan. I have an advantage that I can understand the sighting reports with my geographical position. Just required your go ahead with the E word.

Now what to make of the following comment?
Very variable in the degree of leaf dissection, the quantity or persistence of bract and calyx indumentum, the shape and length of the bracts, and the length of the calyx teeth.
Janet study the following it is the only one listed from this area. The problem is that I am not being able to find any images?

If that is the only one listed for your area then it's most likely the one Arif. There is a photo of flowers on the link I gave above, scroll down, the flowers have some purple colouring but they can be white as well. You can see the shape of the flower on the left, and a little of the leaves. I checked all the other species and Eremostachys vicaryi is the only one which it seemed to be. The line drawing on Flora of Pakistan seems to fit quite well too, and the flower description "densely white-bearded" seems to fit also as your flowers have lots of hairs.

"Cauline leaves absent or 1-2 pairs, much smaller than basal leaves" explains why there is no obvious smaller leaves below the flowers, they can be absent!

Only did basic Botany then went into engineering. While I can understand you and follow line drawings, well the rest sometimes sounds like gibberish to me Shrug! . So when it comes to verbal pictorial drawings, you are welcome to center stage.
Thanks Janet.

It's all gibberish unless you make a specific and determined attempt to make it un-gibberish Arif. Hilarious!

Janet for doing this kind of work you need continuous electricity and net connectivity so that the linkages coming into mind do not get lost. Here, pssst power gone then it will be back on after several hours what mental connectivity is left with the subject in hand? Except maybe frustration.
Thank you Janet, some sensitive pinkies around I tip my hat to you.

Arif.
