Smiling That I think is a cactus over which I have spent quite a few hours at cactusguide.com but no luck. I get side tracked into reading some thread or the other.

Arif.

Senecio and I have been thinking it was a cactus? Well a cactus is a succulent while all succulents are not cactus. ID'd two more at that site which means the guys and galls on the threads and who should be experts, are not experts.
Thank you Janet I tip my hat to you. .

Arif.

It took me a while to find, but I knew it wasn't a cactus. Plants can be confusing when they vary so much within a genus.

Thumbs up

Hilarious! First, if it has a flower, then check what type of flower it is. In this case it had similarities to a daisy type flower which suggests Asteraceae.

I've just checked on the Plant List, the spelling should be Senecio stapeliiformis and that is a synonym of Kleinia stapeliiformis.
