Thanks Holly I tip my hat to you. I have actually finished 23 of them. When I started buying the glass I went way overboard. I love playing around and it has to look just so. I am sure I will be selling some as I don't have room for all of them and I am so addicted now I put them together I bought more glass to make more. I will have to get pictures and share them with all of you.

David I did a few windows a friend thought would sell at a flea market last November but didn't. So many loved them but I think with it being winter no one was thinking about spring. Had fun doing them also.

Holly what kind of paint did you use on your plate? I don't know which is permanent of won't fade in the extremely hot sun here.

What do you use for the stem or stake for the flower? I was thinking of PVC pipe or? How long does the E6000 glue last outdoors? I'm guessing it would last longer in the shade than in sun and longer still if it were somewhat sheltered from rain. I LOVE the sea shell window pane.

I'm not sure how long the glue will last but the plate was outside most of last summer when I packed it away for the winter it didn't look like it had degraded at all. I used a metal post that Ric bent for me to give it a nice curve to the stem. The other one I bought a green plastic post from the garden center at lowes. They are stakes or gardening or landscaping. Only a few $$.

I have been looking at these all over the place online. Someone on ebay is using spoons and bending them to fit into the metal conduit. I was on the way to buy the oil and vinegar bottles at a restaurant supply when I founf this idea. I bought some tablespoons and when David gets them flattened and bent I will get them glued and mounted.

I made a shirt once using E-6000 and washed it over a dozen times. I glued rep silk flowers to it. I didn't dry it but it still held up and looked great. I am having so much fun doing this. Also you can not pull them apart and it takes alot of muscle to get a half marble off of an old window pane without breaking it.

It is a cut glass beveled jewel that I picked up at the stain glass shop. I won't be doing that again it was much more expensive than I realized it would be. I was running late and knew what I wanted so I ran in grabbed it and when she rang it up I almost fell over, but took it anyway.

I totally understand. I am alot more picky now when it comes to buying for the flowers. I was at an auction tonight and just couldn't even look at glassware. My friend bought some Cape Cod Avon pieces (red)and was shocked I didn't want to buy them. They were cheap enough I guess. She did give me the napkin rings and a heart trinket box but that is for me not the flowers. I did buy a Cape Cod Avon Pitcher for 4 dollars still in the box.

I've put in some effort this winter making some plate flowers also. What fun, but can be challenging too!

It's just getting harder and harder to find what I want/like, they are becoming more and more popular. Also, Goodwill, Salvation Army and any other thrift store I frequent is just getting out of control price-wise. Something I pick off the shelf and expect to be 49cents to a dollar is now at least $1.99 to 3.99. I don't know how they come up with their pricing. I can find the same two items on different shelves and they are marked different prices. But I did learn last week to not be afraid to haggle at GW, I found a small picture with a garden saying I'd like to use but the frame was chipped. I asked if they'd discount it, they knocked it down to 1/2 price without any hesitation. I've seen several pieces of glassware with almost invisible chips that I've passed over, now I know to ask if they'll discount it!

I'm wondering if anyone has used golfclubs to mount the plates to? I picked up a couple of those at $1.99 each and thought I'd give it a try.
Keep posting pictures, I enjoy getting more ideas!

I have never had any luck haggling with any of them. Shrug! But I am glad someone can.

I know what you mean about prices. My David found a McCormick tea pot without the Infuser for 3.99 but they want 2.99 for a clear small bowl that is just cut glass. . It does amaze me how they come up with the prices. I don't pay over 1.00 unless it really strikes me.

It really is getting harder and harder to find things.

I'm so tickled to report that Holly's stunning glass plate flower with the red center came home with me last night! Joyanna (aka "Sunshine Girl," 4 1/2) picked it out saying "I knew you'd like it, Mommy," but I'm quite sure it was the ruby jewel that caught her eye!
