Would love recommendations for late flowering tall purples. I have my eye on Stargate Portal and Upgrade but they don't appear to be commercially available this spring.
Crazy Cat Lady by Elaine Seifert ( LARE UF Spatulate, 42" 8.5" )
It still may be hard to find.
CreepyWeird by Brian Reeder ( MLRE 42" 6" )
Still fairly new, no pictures yet. May still be hard to find.
I'm in the Mid - Atlantic. These would do well most. Everywhere except the Deep South.
How about these tets? They have the purplish-blue impression that Stargate Portal gives. SP is not that tall. These may or may not be easily accessible at this point in the season...
Also, Laura Harwood which, too, is registered as midseason but is mid-to-late in my garden. She is just getting started here, behind all the others. Not especially tall, though.

My recommendation is JAY FARQUHAR- a Carpenter cultivar. It is the latest bloomer in my gardens up north, gives lots of blooms over the month of August, is above registered height and is pretty
I have to 2nd Paul Voth (Oakes daylilies), although I consider it to be a mid-late. The color is hard to capture in a photo, but it is luscious. A big plus is that unlike most dark colors in my climate's heat, it's pretty colorfast.......BTW, I see Upgrade listed at Cottage Gardens in New York if you want to try that source..............Maryl
Paul Voth:
Petal Pushers sells Upgrade and Stargate Portal for very reasonable prices, plus check out Westbourne Broken Hearts--that a nice looking one, quite dark.

Petal Pushers still has Stargate Portal available, I've purchased from them in the past and they send nice plants. https://petalpusher.plantfans....
