Each Monday, Char or I will be starting a thread for all of us to post photos and discuss the work and gardens of a different hybridizer. We asked Dave to work his magic and he gave us a list of hybridizers who have registered at least 50 daylilies in the last 25 years. A sticky will be added to the forum for easy to find links of each hybridizer thread.

The selection each week will alternate between more well known and less well known hybridizers, northern, southern and inbetweens. We might even throw in a week now and then of "up and coming" people who started introducing in the last few years.... hybridizers from the early days of the AHS.... We will try to keep things mixed up a bit!

We would like you to post your photos of flowers from that hybridizer, photos of them or their gardens.... post comments....did they speak at your club? meet them at a regional?

This will be a lot of fun, and also be interesting to see all the photos!

We want to make sure to cover the most popular hybridizers, and also explore those who are not as well known.

We chose the last 25 years because if you see a photo of something you like, it is more likely to be available.

That's a fantastic idea! Love it! I just wish we'd done something like this over the winter months, when I had more time...

We did talk about when to start. There are a lot of people on the list, I believe over 100 - that is enough for a couple years worth of weekly threads. We will be mixing in "wild cards" now and then. I thought we might as well get started.

If you know you have uploaded a photo of a plant from a given hybridizer to the database, you can always link to it instead of uploading it again to the thread - that would save time.

Thanks!

It has been a bit like Sherlock Holmes and Watson trying to track down information on some of the people!

Glad you are enjoying the series!

Thanks to Char for being the driving moderator behind this! I'm just helping when I can!
