I caught a groundhog in my garden he had eaten most of the tops off my carrots. Is there any chance these will grow back or should I pull them out? Actually the whole family was in there. My attack dog Bentley the beagle basset hound slept through the whole thing. Great watchdog. Lol

If they just got the green part give it a few days and see what happens. If they got down into the "meat" of the carrots, I'd pull them and start over.

Definitely just a green parts. The little buggers didn't even eat all the green parts. I still have a fair amount of carrot greens showing on all the carrots. I'll take your advice my friend and wait a few days and see what happens.

I put up a fence around the garden. And the carrots are growing back beautifully. I was just wondering how long should I now wait to harvest the carrots? Do I have to restart the clock of when I Would harvest them to the time of when they were eaten by the groundhogs?

That depends on the variety, how closely together they are planted, your weather, etc. Generally I look for the tops to be sticking up out of the ground so I can judge the size. If you planted plenty of carrots you can pull a few to get an idea of how they are progressing. Small carrots are usually sweet and tender (nothing like the "baby carrots" you get at the store) so even if they aren't quite ready they won't go to waste Sticking tongue out

Looks like everything is grown back and then some. Fence is working really well. My question is what is the likelihood of the peppers actually producing this season they seem to be growing quite well but I didn't know about how long it would take for them to produce actual peppers. Same with the cherry tomato plant the greenery is growing well but I don't see any flowers where you would see tomatoes growing. Thanks again for all the help if you have any answers to these questions at a greatly appreciate it

Patience! You'll likely get peppers and tomatoes in August to frost.

Thank you. Both of them are growing like crazy. I just didn't know if the tomatoes wouldn't grow back because I don't see any flower buds yet or if they'll grow out of the leaves when they are ready to. Thank you for your help Thank You!

Too early for buds on tomato plants. Patience wins every time - annoying but true.

Your peppers look exactly like mine, Tim. A few days ago the rabbits got my peppers. Even now, four days later, my Anaheim has little flower buds.

It was especially annoying because I had two flowers that were nearly done and would most likely start growing peppers at any time. Grumbling

Anyway, plants are tenacious. They'll grow back if they have even a tiny amount of energy left to do so. Thumbs up

Thank you very much for your input. Everything is growing back pretty well. I just didn't know where I didn't see any flower but yet if that meant they wouldn't flower but now it appears that just means I have to wait for them to grow and then flower.

Everything's going really well. The one thing I've noticed though is my tomatoes have white flowers. I've never seen that before. Any idea why that is?

Are you sure you aren't looking at a pepper plant and thinking it's a tomato? Peppers have white flowers; I've never seen anything but a yellow flower on a tomato plant.

Plant identifier website that I use is claiming that it's arugula. I do not remember planting any arugula. I also didn't know arugula flowered. Lol

Looks like arugula to me...
Seed comes from flowers...
I know someone that has had arugula self sow for them....

Sadly, I'm not going to grow it... Hate the taste... Even though the flowers are good for the pollinators...
