Despite the rather mundane subject line, spring flowers could NEVER be mundane! Here's what's up in my Chicago suburb yard . . .

After about 20 years of planting stuff, I really do not remember the names of these little charmers, but they are loved anyway.Thumb of 2013-04-10/sherrilosee/47c53e

You'll note the sad "beheaded yellow buds" around the open one in the first pic. Either squirrels or cats got to 'em. We have many of both. Love them except when they become violent. Thumbs down Hilarious!

Gardengus, I don't have any daffs! I have these crocuses, hellebores, wild phlox, and native hepatica and bloodroot. But, no daffs. Your's are beautiful, though! Thumbs up I do have grape hyacinths, too, but they're not up yet.

Sounds like your spring is just a bit behind here.
Have you been getting rain almost every day?

Hey, Gardengus - "rain" is an understatement!! You've probably seen on the news by now - the Chicago area is a lake in a lot of places . . . LOTS of flooding! Took me over 2 hours to get home from work yesterday - a normal 1/2 drive - because of all the street closures. Really bad. Fortunately, our home seems floodproof!

It is good to live on high ground
Thursday we added 31/2 inches to all the rest, and our bottom 4 acres were under running water.
