Elaine, when you typed what the label said, it reminded me of Dr Bronners soap labels! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

No, no! There's MUCH more bafflegab on the SuperThrive label. Blinking I really love the "millions of molecules of world's science miracles" one. Hmm, let's see, that could be . .. .H2O??

The only thing true is the "NON-WARRANTY". See last pic, bottom right. At least on the soap you know what some of the ingredients are.

The label gave me pause as well. It does have what amounts to rooting hormones, I'd think they'd make some difference.

From what I can discern, the rooting hormone is 1-Naphthaleneacetic acid (aka NAA), found in other rooting products like my "Dip'n Grow" concentrate. It is the component that causes the ban in the state of Oregon.

From what I understand the issue is whether it is registered. According to wikipedia the chemical is considered a pesticide by the EPA and each product containing it must be registered. So I assume that "Dip'n Grow" is registered. That begs the question of how ST can be sold in most other states. The only answer I can figure out (but don't know if it is true) is that NAA is registered with the EPA but individual states may also require registration of the product containing it.

Yes it is confusing... Did you know that coffee is on the California's carcinogen list? Boy did that make for some problems at work; it was another good excuse for me to retire!

Also, a state can have stricter requirements than the federal EPA but not more lenient. Federal trumps state.

Thanks Connie, interesting!
Elaine, the labeling does crack me up! It doesn't stop me from wanting to use the product, however it does make me "pause" first!!

Keep us posted, Lynn. Greg, Nahh! You don't "want" to use the product, you want the results it hypes, and "guarantees". Sort of like a miracle diet product - you don't want to diet, you want the result. Rolling my eyes.

It's taken me years to use up the little bottle I had, and I'm not buying another one until I try doing without it for at least a year. Or if my key lime tree gives me fruit after 6 years of none. (I used up the last of the SuperThrive on it)

I've read a whole bunch more stuff since first posting about this, and the only benefit anyone reports consistently is as a transplant/rooting aid.

I'd rather use Quick Start, it's a lot cheaper, from a reputable company and actually has ingredients on the label.

I had a list of ingredients in ST somewhere, but I don't think it was from the label, lol.

I agree Bev...oh man, don't like that at all! And I have a whole bottle to go through! I just figured OR was being uptight because of the agro businesses there, not that there were heavy metals in this stuff Thumbs down Also, I'm not a science guy, so forgive me, but I had no idea that arsenic was a metal...interesting! I tip my hat to you.
