Has to be the biggest and prettiest semp i've ever seen especially from wal-mart.

I was in my bed planting them and i had about 5 plants left to go when the mail came.I am just going to show the pictures and ask for advice. This first plant is very soft and easily squeezed if that makes since. The soil it was in is wet. They took a lot of tumbling on the way here in the box. Most weren't in their pots.Thumb of 2013-04-11/jojoe/3006c2This is the one that arrived out of it's pot but the soil around it was wet.
Thumb of 2013-04-11/jojoe/04ed45Woolcotts varieties
Should i remove all soil from around it and mooshy leaves? It just started raining so i can't put it out side,i can clean it up then put it under grow lights to try & dry it up?

Oh no. Blinking
By all means, take them out of the pots and clean the soil from them. Let them dry after removing all damaged leaves. It may take them a few days to dry out, but should be alright.
I would put them in your laundry room where it is dry. Once they have dried out replant them and mist only the top of the soil, do not water them.

That's a shame they were shipped in pots since they do so well shipped bare root. But I'm sure they'll be fine once they're all cleaned up. Thumbs up The one you got at Walmart is a beauty!

It's so disappointing when plants that you've looked forward to receiving come and they aren't as you'd expect them to be. Group hug As the others said they'll be fine in time. I love your Walmart buy, it's fab! Lovey dubby

Thank you, I did clean it up,it was mainly the Woolcotts Varieties that was shipped in wet soil.I just left them in the box and put a spiral grow light in a lamp that i could direct the light directly into the box.The rest are ok but i figure the light won't hurt the others since it started pouring yesterday evening & hasn't stopped yet,so it's very humid. At least it isn't 90 degree's today, but so humid. We have practically skipped spring except for the pollen of course. Sad

I put my jades out 2 weeks ago thinking it was early enough for them to slowly get use to the sun & after the last 2 days they are sunburned, moved them to the shade. Sad

That southern sun can be quite intense, especially when you add in the humidity.
It seems like such a balancing act with our plants. Smiling

Jojoe, your plants all look good!! Personally I wouldn't keep them in a box, I'd just lay them out on newspaper, they need airflow or could mold pretty quickly! (just my 2 cents)
Hurray!

I agree with Greg....it does seem like it would getting a little moldy and having as much airflow to the plant as possible would be better. Shrug!

I have a question about planting these babies i just got from simply succulents.I have been so concerned with the one that arrived so wet & soft that i just today started thinking about planting them.It has stopped raining and the sun is shining.I started pulling the others out of the pot.I have never ordered semp's before only purchased them at lowes & wal-mart etc... These are smaller than any other i have planted.I have planted bigger ones & found dead dried out leaves at the bottom of them.I simply removed the dead leaves & planted.I found the same thing on these little ones. They feel hard kinda crispy,i even found a baby that seems dead it's so hard & dried out.

I have plants that the leaves are thick & stiff but these are completely open, small and arrived in a bone dry mix. I'm not sure what to do.Can they be planted now,i don't want to wait to plant them when it gets really hot.

I'd plant them up now and give them a nice drink! Remove the crispy leaves and they should be fine. They are probably better arriving bone dry than soggy. I had a batch sent to me bare root and bone dry and they settled in we and are now growing nicely.

I agree Might take them a few weeks to recover, but they'll be OK. Like Kate said soggy would mean they'd rot and that's not as easy to take care of. These are succulents and after a good drink and a little time they'll pop right back. I think they look worse because there's dirt all over them. When they're cleaned up that will help. You have a nice assortment there and they're colored up good already too. Hurray!
