Roses are tough to identify unless you know the class. If it's a hybrid tea, it could be Cary Grant, but there are hundreds of other roses that also look like this.

This is a hybrid tea from a big box store purchased as root stock, I should have saved the box. I didn't realize they have names.

Here are the other blooms of this rose bush, this orange one is fragrant seems to have a lot of thorns and doesn't do well with the intense summer heat. Here are some of its pictures:

There's no clustering, so it's most probably a hybrid tea. If it was an inexpensive rose at a big box store, the patent probably has run out. Cary Grant is still my best guess, but it wouldn't be the only one. There's a myriad of orange hybrid teas that look like yours, are thorny, have a strong fragrance, and are sold at big box stores.

Another possibility is Tropicana. That one has a fruity scent.

Thanks Zuzu and Carol, when I opened the Tropicana database extra color is described as flame red, which is what I noticed on the blooms of these roses. Yes, it was very inexpensive - and there were 2 rootstocks per box, I was surprised these rose bushes lasted this long. Normally I can enjoy them one year and they die following year.

The quality of the pic is not good but here is the flame colorThumb of 2013-04-15/GigiPlumeria/b6ba64

I would guess Tropicana. My Cary Grant has more of a high center.....

Thanks Zuzu, Carol and Paul. Do I have the experts' permission to upload a picture of my rose as Tropicana and close this ID request?

You might as well do that, Gigi. It won't be the first time images are submitted on the basis of a good guess. Smiling
