Bummer....Depends on what they sprayed with. Sometimes if you wash them off immediately it helps. At this point you will just have to watch and be hopeful. I don't use a lawn service and hate it when the neighbor does and I can smell the fumes drifting into my garden. Was it a commercial lawn company? If so I would let them know of the problem and ask for some consideration for your losses.

It is a one guy operation but yes it is a company. I can assure you he won't replace my peonies but he won't be spraying for weeds here anymore either. You would think when they charge $300 that they can tell what are weeds and what are flowers.

I think in most states these companies are licensed by the state. I would contact a state agency, perhaps the Department of Agriculture and see if you have any recourse.

He does have a state license, I will think about contacting them. They were "saved" plants that I got from a friends house so they are small to start with and I have no proof of purchase so it will be hard to be compensated.
I hope it just set them back and maybe they will come back next year.
Since it was a lawn spray, it probably was a 2-4-D type which affects the above ground portion. Hopefully, it will not damage the root system but they may skip a year before they bloom again. Cross your fingers.

Oh, good!!! I guess I better leave them alone and see what happens. I was thinking of digging them up and moving them but was afraid that might be too much stress and the kiss of death.

Yes, and I just discovered that he sprayed my wildflower area too. He has been doing my lawn for 3 years now. I don't know what his problem is this year, I have never had problems in the past but he won't be spraying here any more I assure you!

No one but me touches my area.
To many time had hubby or someone mowing the lawn take out my plants.
I hope they come back,I know how upsetting it can be.
If you would have a mind at peace, a heart that cannot harden, go find a door that opens wide upon a lovely garden. https://www.facebook.com/pages...
I agree with hazeleyes...no one but me touches my gardens!!!!! I live next to the river and do not want any posions going into my well nor the river. Poor birds and, duck, turtles and so on and so forth.

Sorry I haven't been here in awhile. I moved them to a better location and they have new foliage coming out so they are going to be fine, thank goodness!
