Love the idea of painting the bottles. For those of you that don't drink wine, just go to your local restaurant or bar, and ask if you can have the empty bottles.

Hi Midway, my husband and I just discovered this thread. We like your ideas. We have lots of excess wine bottles that people have given us. In the first picture please tell us how the colored wine bottles are affixed to the top of the rods (possibly rebar) to give the cluster affect.

Hi Doris,
He just takes a piece of rebar and spot welds the small sticks around the rebar. We use plugs to hold the vase on.
Have fun,
Patsey

Patsey, what kind of plugs do you use to hold the vase on? Thank you for answering and sharing.
