Headed to pick up 3rd batch of cuc transplants! These unseasonable Texas cold snaps are killing me....or them, rather! Third time's the charm?

Yessiree, third time's the charm! Thumbs up

I started some in GH in paper pots and they are real slow coming up, but finally starting to pop.

I start my cucumbers from seed and have 18 plants in soil right now. We haven't dipped below high 30s and they don't seem to notice. Have yours been damaged from freezing?

Cucumbers really don't like those cold spells. Neigther do beans.

As long as the seed has germinated and the plant is growing, the cool temps are not an issue.

The only thing I've noticed is they grow a bit more slowly with cooler temps but they sure have less pests in the cooler weather. When we get hot & humid I have to patrol constantly for bugs.

Freezing temperatures are another issue. We saw 31 degrees on Friday nite here. I had the maters and cukes covered with sheets and all are just fine.

Mine are still in the GH. I have two in paper pots ready to put out. But we had ice on Saturday morning! Luckily I had covered my tomatoes. Not planted, in pots to sell at farmer's market!! Yikes!
